Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate chip cookies

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup softened unsalted butter

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1/2 cup (packed) light brown sugar

  • 1/2 cup (packed) dark brown sugar

  • 2 large egg (room temperature)

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 1/2 salt

  • 3 cups flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • 2 cups chopped dark or semi-sweet chocolate

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and prep a baking sheet with parchment.

  2. Cream together butter and sugar with a hand or stand mixer for a minute. Mix in the eggs and vanilla.

  3. Sift dry ingredients together and mix in.

  4. Add the chocolate chunks and mix well.

  5. Roll 1 1/2-inch balls of dough and place on the cookie sheets. Refrigerate for 30 minutes before baking.

  6. Bake for 9 minutes, then immediately top with maldon sea salt and cool on a wire rack for two minutes.

TIPS

I highly recommend taking the extra step to chop your own chocolate chunks!
